Jamaican sisters Danielle and Shermaine Williams both qualified for the 100 metres hurdles final with great performances. Danielle is formerly of the Queen’s School while Shermaine went to Convent of Mercy (Alpha Academy).
First, Danielle did a personal best to win semi-final 1. Danielle’s time of 12.58 is the fastest time going into the final.
Sister Shermaine recovered from a slow start to finish second in 12.86. The winner in her semi-final was Brianna rollins of the United States in 12.71.
The finals will take place at 8:35 am local time today.
