Fresh from his stint playing for Jamaica in the recently concluded Copa America competition in Chile, Lance Laing is on fire once again for FC Edmonton.
The Kinloss, Trelawny native seems to have relished the experience playing at the top level against the some of best opponents in the world, including Argentina.
Laing’s contribution to the 4-0 routing of the San Antonio Scorpions, earned him the player of the week and catapulted him to the top goal scorer of the North American Soccer League (NASL), with 6 goals. FC Edmonton earned their first goal courtesy of the Jamaican midfielder, who drew a penalty.
“Double Dog” (as he was known at William Knibb) scored a penalty kick of his own in the 68th minute and followed up with a free kick that curled to the top corner of the goal in the 83rd minute.
Laing also has a total of 4 assists, which currently places him in second place in the NASL competition. Congrats to the former William Knibb, Holland United, Village United and Harbour View FC player.
