An unidentified police officer working at an unidentified station in Trelawny parish has been arrested in a sting operation on suspicion of corruption.

An officer stationed in the Trelawny Police Division was taken into custody by members of the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) on suspicion of corruption, yesterday, Saturday, October 29.

Reports are that last week, the cop allegedly went to an entertainment venue in Falmouth, Trelawny where music was being played and demanded that the proprietor hand over $20,000 or face charges  of breaches of the Night Noise Abatement Act.

The accused policeman was subsequently, held with marked $1000 notes he is alleged to have received from the operator of the venue, during a sting operation set up by members of MOCA .

The police have withheld the identity of their accused colleague.
