Trelawny FA National Rums Major League and Division 1 Final
The first leg final of the Trelawny FA National Rums Major League and Division 1 will take place this Sunday, June 28, 2015, at the Elletson Wakeland Sports Complex.
The double-header will see Daniel Town FC play Fire FC in the Trelawny Division 1, starting at 1:30 pm. This will be followed at 3:30 pm by the Trelawny Major League final between Clark’s Town FC and Coopers Pen FC.
Trelawny FA National Rums Major League
The Trelawny FA (TFA) National Rums Major League is the top league in the parish, and both Clark’s Town and Coopers Pen will be playing for a spot in the Confederation League, which provides qualification for the country’s top league, the National Premier League.
Best Offence vs Best Defence
It will be a battle of contrasts, as Coopers Pen is the best offensive team in the league, while Clark’s Town is the best defensive team. Led by 16 goals from Shaunavan McKenzie, Coopers Pen amassed 35 goals for the season. On the other hand, Clark’s Town was stingy, letting in only 10 goals.
Coopers Pen finished the season with 40 points, 7 more than Clark’s Town’s 33 points. In their only confrontation this season, Clark’s Town beat Coopers Pen 3-1. In addition, form seems to be on the side of Clark’s Town.
In the semi-final, Clark’s Town routed Spicy Hill 5-2 on aggregate, while Coopers Pen had to rely on penalties to beat Bounty Hall’s Harmony FC, after both teams played to 1-1 scores in both legs.
There is therefore no clear cut favorite in the Trelawny FA National Rums Major League. The final should therefore be an exciting, unpredictable affair.
Trelawny FA National Rums Division 1 Final
In the Trelawny FA National Rums Division 1 Final, both teams have already qualified for next seasons Major League by virtue of reaching the final. However, both will be hunting their first title.
In the regular season, Daniel Town defeated Fire FC by 1-0 in addition to a 0-0 draw. Daniel Town advanced to the finals on a 2-1 aggregate in their defeat of Rio Bueno, while Fire FC beat mid-season finalists Bunkers Hill So Fresh 5-4 on aggregate.
Once again, there is not much separating both teams, and like the Major League final, the Trelawny FA National Rums Division 1 Final can go either way. All in all, an exciting double-header set for the Elletson Wakeland Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon.
