The 39th annual Trelawny Reunion week will be held from May 20 to May 27, 2018 in New York City.
The multi-event celebrations are being organized by the Friends of Trelawny Association (FOTA).
The FOTA’s mission is to support and promote primary education and health in Trelawny, “but it’s also a revival, a celebration of our Trelawny heritage and hospitality, as well as the Jamaican spirit. The festivities are planned around the theme “Trelawny – Strength in Unity”
The celebrations will commence with a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, May 20th.
The Awards Banquet will be on Friday, May 25, 2018 commencing at 8PM at the Royal Chateau Hall, in Rosedale, NY. At this event, we will be recognizing outstanding individuals or organizations that are engaged in activities that promote the objectives of our organization.
The Grand Reunion Picnic/Fun Day – will be held on Sunday, May 27th from 8:00am to 6:00pm at the Anthony Wayne Recreation Area in Bear Mountain, New York. This signature event brings together first and second generation Trelawny-ites , as well as friends for the “Mother of all Reunion”.
The global New York world class metropolitan city has provided a backdrop, and the opportunity to promote our rich cultural heritage. After 39 years, the annual Trelawny extravaganza has become a feature event on the New York’s cultural scene.
Organizers are expecting more than 8,000 Trelawny-ites and friends who now living in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Europe and Jamaica to attend the series of events planned for the week.
