On the 22nd of March 2011, Falmouth saw the biggest crowd I have ever seen in the town in my lifetime as it welcomed then largest cruise ship in the world, Oasis of the Seas. Today, the town attained another milestone in welcoming Harmony of the Seas, the now biggest cruise ship in the world.
This time, there was no celebration nor fanfare, nor any big crowd. Indeed Harmony of the Seas is an Oasis Class ship, which means it looks a lot like its smaller sisters Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas. These original Oasis class ships (Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas) dock in Falmouth each week.
Harmony is not much bigger than its smaller sisters. It only holds 100 more passengers.
Falmouth News took a few pictures of the largest cruise ship in the world docked in Falmouth Port, to preserve the memory of the historic occasion.
