Memorial Service for the late Winston ‘Tony’ Brown
Major Brown, originally from 73 Cornwall Street in Falmouth, attended the Falmouth Infant School and Falmouth All-Age School. He moved from Cornwall Street to Race Course and was formerly employed at the Trelawny Parish Library.
He became a Christian at the New Testament Church of God on Market Street, Falmouth from a young age, before switching to the Salvation Army in 1992. In the ‘Army,’ he rose to the rank of Major.
The Salvation Army took Tony to live in several different places. He moved from Race Course to Kingston then Surinam, Barbados, St. Lucia then back to Kingston. From the capital city, he moved to Mandeville for 4 years as an Evangelist and ran the Danbury home for children.
He died suddenly at his home in Mandeville on September 24, 2015 and was buried in his hometown of Falmouth.
He left behind his wife Jennifer, 3 children (2 boys and a girl, his mother Rose, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
