When LIME first switched on their 4G network in April of last year, they stated that their network upgrades will be completed by mid-2015, by which time all parishes across Jamaica would be 4G enabled. We are past mid-2015, and still no 4G mobile service in Trelawny.
Good news however as one of our readers have confirmed that he personally spoke with LIME’s CEO Gary Sinclair who told him that Trelawny and other north coast areas, should be receiving service by October.
In regards to LIME service in Falmouth Gary Sinclair CEO of LIME/Flow was on a live-stream broadcast last week and I asked him when will Falmouth be upgraded to either 3G Or 4G , he said by October of this year the greater northern coast including Falmouth will be getting 4G as the infrastructure is being put in place.
This is good news for Falmouth and Trelawny in general. LIME’s current top speed on the north coast is 3G, but at least northern Trelawny does not even have 3G. It is available in St James and also St Ann, but not across the border into Trelawny. Now we are going to make the giant leap from EDGE speed into 4G, this news is welcome, in an age when a fast data connection is an absolute necessity.
