The Major Organised Crime & Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) is continuing it’s task of stamping out corruption, by arresting a 28-year old KSAC building inspector.
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A twenty-eight-year-old man, who is employed to the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC) as a building inspector, was arrested Monday in a sting operation by detectives from the Major Organised Crime & Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA).
Reports are that in May this year, the building inspector visited a location in Kingston where a building is being constructed. He informed the proprietor that the building permit had expired. He then solicited $500,000 in order to expedite the process of renewing the permit.
A report was made to MOCA, an investigation commenced and a sting operation was conducted, which led to his arrest after he collected a sum of money.
Investigations are ongoing.
