On Sunday, October 18, 2015, the JN Foundation, in association with the Usain Bolt Foundation, presents the JN Foundation Heroes in Action 5K Run/Walk. This 5K run will begin at the Falmouth Cruise Ship Pier.
The JNBS Foundation was established in 1990 as the charitable arm of the Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS). It’s mission is to work with internal and external partners to identify, develop and provide technical and financial support to projects and programmes that focus on issues relating to rural development, health, housing, education, youth, community, crime and safety.
The event is being held as part of the 141st Anniversary celebration of Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS).
This partnership with Usain Bolt Foundation, will see proceeds in aide of the Granville Place of Safety in Carrick Foyle, Trelawny. The Granville Place of Safety is home to girls from all over Jamaica, who have been abandoned, abused or have behavioral problems.
Proceeds will contribute to the construction of a building, which will house a classroom, a media library and sewing room.
The event has received an official endorsement from Usain Bolt, double (100m and 200m) World and Olympic Champion and world record holder. Usain stated, “I am always happy to be a part of any positive venture that gives back to my Parish. I know the people of not only Trelawny; but, the entire Jamaica will come out and support the 5k.”
The 5K run will take place throughout the streets of historic Falmouth and will begin at 6 am. Start preparing for this worthy cause.
We thank JNBS for selecting Falmouth Jamaica as part of their 141st Anniversary celebration.
