When the women’s 400 metres final gets under way on Thursday August 27, 2015, four Jamaican girls will go down in world history. With all the domination of USA over the years, Jamaica will be the first nation to qualify 4 athletes into a major world (Olympics or World champs) 400 metres final. No other country has done it before.
The quartet of Shericka Williams, Christine Day, Stephenie Ann McPherson and the veteran Novlene Williams-Mills, will contest the final of the 400m on Thursday morning at 7:40 am local time, 15 minutes before the epic battle between Usain Bolt and Justin Gatlin in the men’s 200 metres final.
All 4 ladies are expected to compete in the 4×400 metres hurdles, hoping to topple the mighty dynasty of USA and to a lesser extent, Great Britain. Take a look at their semi-final videos.
