The game was hampered by strong winds as is often the case this time of the year at Elleston Wakeland Sports Complex. The game was evenly contested with neither of the two teams looking the better. It was a game of spurts with both teams sharing the attack.
That continued until the second half when the test of fitness took its toll on Daniel Town. Fire FC turned out to be the fitter of the two and scored in the middle of the second half. Fire FC based in Wakefield, held on to that 1-0 advantage until the final whistle.
The second and decisive leg of the final will be held on Sunday, July 5, 1:30 pm at the same venue.
