At 10 pm tomorrow August 13, the results of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) exams will be published. CSEC was formerly known as CXC as back then the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) only had one exam. Now, there is also CAPE, which the region used to replace the old GCE A Level exams.

Here in Trelawny, most of our CSEC students attend one of the following schools: William Knibb Memorial High, Holland High, Westwood High, Muschette High, Cedric Titus High, Albert Town High, Montego Bay High, Mt Alvernia High, Cornwall College, Christiana High, Holmwood Technical High, York Castle High or St Hilda’s High. Students from these and all schools in Jamaica will know their fate tomorrow.

Last year, Westwood jumped one place to get the 6th best passes in Jamaica. Of the others on the list above, Montego Bay High was 3rd in the country, St Hilda’s was 7th, Mt Alvernia was 12th and York Castle was 20th. See the full list of Top 24 Schools in Jamaica.

The CSEC determines what move teens make after leaving grade 11 at high school, although some students sit a subject or two from as early as grade 9.

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Results for the 2015 May/June sitting of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) exams will be published at 10:00 pm tomorrow, Thursday, August 13.

That’s two days later than the date previously announced.

In a statement on its website, the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC), which administers the exam, apologised for the lateness.

“CXC is working assiduously to ensure that all CSEC results meet its rigorous quality assurance standards and assures you that the results will be available on Thursday, 13 August 2015,” the statement said.

The results will be available on the Council’s student portal.

CSEC is sat upon completion of the secondary school curricula, usually at grade 11. It qualifies students to access tertiary education in the region, and also provides basic qualification for certain jobs.
